Teens With Julia

What Is Teen Therapy?

I have been working with youth for over 20 years.  In this time I have been able to help many individuals feel better about themselves, and make positive changes in their lives.  It may seem difficult or uncomfortable to think about talking of things you would never admit your family or friends, my goal is to ensure you feel safe, comfortable and in control of your journey.

How do I ensure YOU  feel Safe & Comfortable?

1. I always follow your lead, starting with which room you would like to meet in.  I have two confidential spaces available, and you get to choose each time which is the best fit for you.  One room is cozy with a couch, desk and chair, dimmed lighting, and even a blanket to snuggle in if you choose.  The second room has a big comfy chair and ottoman with lots of pillows, and all kinds of different activities (fidgets, arts + crafts, games, sand trays, and much more).

2. Your story is just that -“Your Story”.  This means that what we talk about belongs to you, and is only yours to share.  I do not discuss what we talk about in our meetings without your permission or knowledge.  The only times I would need to share something out of the room would be for safety (Someone is hurting you, You plan to hurt someone, You plan to hurt yourself). Even in these cases, you will know and have a choice in how it moves ahead.

3. I accept you just as you are when you met with me (fresh slate every time).  I have no expectations of what I want you to accomplish, I help highlight your strengths to make it easier for you to achieve what you want.
